Barnburgh Primary Academy

School Meals

All children in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to receive a free school meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals Scheme.

A school meal is also available for all Key Stage 2 pupils to purchase. These cooked meals are prepared at Barnburgh Primary Academy. There is a varied and balanced menu operating on a 3 weekly rotation (see below for details).  Any special dietary needs can be catered for. A dinner register is taken every morning where your child can order their school lunch.

Payments for school meals for pupils in Key Stage 2 must be paid online via SchoolGrid.  The cost of a school meal will be £2.60 per day.

Some families may be eligible for means-tested Free School Meals. For more information and to make an online application, please follow the link below.

If you are experiencing financial difficulties paying for your child's school meals, please contact the school office for advice and support.

Barnburgh Primary is a nut free environment. Therefore, we do not allow any products that contain nuts anywhere on the school premises.

Any child who wishes to bring a packed lunch from home is welcome to do so.  Healthy packed lunches are strongly encouraged. Drinks must not be brought in breakable flasks or glass bottles.  Pupils are encouraged to drink water during the school day.
